“Peace and harmony with self are not stations you arrive at, but a manner of traveling.” ~ Kevin Tyler Smith
I love being happy. I love peace of mind, peace with self, a peaceful environment, peaceful relationships and peace in the world. I become unhinged when things are not in order or in a state of tranquility mentally or physically.
I chose the name Guarding Shalom because I love everything that the hebrew word Shalom stands for: completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. Quite simply…I would like to discover and ensure a bounty of endless shalom in my life and optimize my time here on earth.
This blog is about finding peace in your life. A journey to become at peace with self physically and mentally. Thus making it a priority to discover, protect and ensure peace and harmony for my everyday human existence is the order of the day. I believe that if I want to find peace and less stress I must be intentional about it through cultivating good practices. It also helps to understand that if I want shalom, certain changes must take place and specific habits need to be developed. Do I want to be more prosperous financially? Then I must examine my discretionary spending, commit to stopping the bleeding of wasteful credit card use and apply theĀ snowball calculator to get out of debt. Do I want a better body physically? Then I must transform from being sedentary to exercising 4 to 5 times a week. Do I want to ensure a healthy relationship with my wife? Then I must develop the skills to nurture a happy marriage.
Who doesn’t want shalom in all areas of life? You find me that person and I’ve got a bridge in London I will sell you.
I believe in order to achieve shalom, you must cultivate it and be intentional about it everyday. By consistently thinking and believing you already have shalom in your life, you will prepare yourself for what the universe has in store for you. It is the laws of attraction at work. The more you practice shalom, the more shalom you will attract.
The irony of this blog is that it will help me stay focused on finding peace in everything I do and the decisions I make. Listen, I’m no Zen Master, transformational practitioner or psychologist by any means but I know by keeping shalom top of mind will help me attract more. This blog will simply keep me intentional about my journey to a life of peace with self.
Peace, harmony and a quiet mind is a manner of traveling…you can ride along if you would like.
